ELECTION SPECIAL
With less than three weeks to go until the Scottish Parliament elections 2021 we've put together an election special...

Are you registered to vote?

The electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone who's registered to vote. You need to be on it to be able to vote in elections and referendums.

You can register to vote when you are:

  • aged 14 or older for Scottish Parliament and council elections
  • aged 16 or older for UK Parliament elections

You must also be one of the following:

  • a British citizen living in Scotland
  • an Irish citizen living in Scotland
  • a foreign national of another country living in Scotland who has leave to enter or stay in the UK, or who does not need leave

The good people at Walk Wheel Cycle Vote have put together an online candidate finder. Just pop in your postcode and it will show all your regional and list candidates.

Third Force News has compiled a list of manifestoes from a wide range of voluntary sector organisations including Keep Scotland Beautiful, the Scottish Youth Parliament, Third Sector Interface Network, Paths for All, Living Streets, the Scottish Food Coalition and Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing.
