Bologna Peacebuilding Forum 2021
Peacebuilding and Climate Change
18-19 May 2021, 3.00 - 5.00 pm CEST time
This year, the Bologna Peacebuilding Forum will deal with the complex linkages between climate, environment and conflict and explore potential pathways through which climate change can increase armed conflicts and negatively affect peace processes.
Furthermore, the Forum will analyze the opportunities that climate change offers for enhancing the prospects of peace.
Finally, the second day will explore the state of play of international climate diplomacy and multilateral efforts to address the relationship between climate change and security in the Mediterranean.

The Bologna Peacebuilding Forum aims to bridge this gap by offering a space for dialogue between peacebuilding scholars and practitioners. Furthermore, the Forum strives to open up the discussion to a larger audience comprising foreign policy experts, relevant civil society actors, and the informed public. From 2019, the Forum has established itself as a major annual gathering fostering open and constructive dialogue on key issues and challenges facing the discipline.
