Park Information

We are excited for our very first park day at Willamette Park on Thursday for K-5 and Friday for 6-8 this week!  Here are some things to know along with detailed arrival and pick up directions below.

Where:  Willamette Park, 6500 S. Macadam Avenue, at Nebraska Street and Macadam

Screening Before your child can join their teacher, they must be health screened by a staff member.  Please share with your child that we will be asking them these health screening questions below so that they know how to answer them. If the answer is yes to any of these questions, do not bring your child to the park or school.

  • Do you or anyone in your home have Covid-19 or feel like they might?
  • Have you been with anyone who has Covid in the past 14 days?
  • Primary symptoms include cough, fever of 100.4 or higher, or chills, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and new loss of taste or smell.   Note that muscle pain, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, new nasal congestion are also associated with Covid.

Kindergarten-5th Grade Park Day

Time: Thursday, 1:00-3:30
Please do not drop your child off before 1.  We will not be ready to screen them and teachers will not be ready to receive them.  We will have 13 Cottonwood Staff members to support our K-5 park day!

What to Bring: K-5 will not be eating while at the park, but please send them with a water bottle to keep hydrated. Teachers will share any additional class specific supplies.

Dress for the weather:  We will be outdoors the entire time.  Bring rain gear if necessary and shoes that can handle mud.  Apply sunscreen to your child ahead of time as we cannot apply it.

Drop off instructions: Pull over and let your children out on the right side of your car. Due to physical distancing we will not be able to unbuckle or help your child out of the car. It may be difficult to have younger children get out quickly on their own. If needed please park and walk your child over to the drop off spot. Do not let children walk through the parking lot on their own. Staff will take attendance, screen and parent volunteers will lead students to their class spot.

Pick Up instructions:  Pull up to the same area where students were dropped off.  A staff member will call your child over to the car.  We cannot help to buckle your child and must keep the flow of cars moving.  Please pull into a parking spot if your child needs help to buckle themselves.
