Major amendment 2 and PSP amendment 4 open for public consultation


Council is proposing changes to a range of planning scheme provisions to ensure the region continues to prosper and the Mackay Region Planning Scheme remains effective and contemporary.
 
Amendments to the planning scheme will ensure planning decisions continue to reflect principles and standards developed with community input.

The consultation period for the proposed amendments is from April 7, 2021 to May 21, 2021.

PSP Amendment 4 - Bushfire

Local area planning to support the Pioneer Valley Mountain Bike Trail network

Council is working towards establishing a network of mountain bike trails on the southern mountain range of the Pioneer Valley between Eungella and Finch Hatton. 
 
The current phase of local area planning work focuses on the Finch Hatton township where the main trail head will be located, with the second phase of work commencing this month and focusing on the Eungella township.

List of furniture and materials updated

Council has recently amended the list of furniture and materials, which is a supporting document to PSP – landscape that sets preferred products for various landscaping applications.
 
The change corrects the standard bin size from a 120L to a 240L bin, which is the correct size used.

Lodge and track development applications online

Council  offers a wide range of online development application lodgements via our online portal – eApplications.
 
Lodging your development applications via the online lodgement portal will assist in processing times for applications and allows customers to submit application documents to with a total file size sum of 150MB (which is far greater than your average email account can send/accept).
