On behalf of the newly established Lake Friendly Living Coalition of theFinger Lakes, in which SLA is a founding member, we are proud to announce the inaugural "Lake Friendly Living Awareness Week" that will coincide with New York State's Water Week from May 2 - May 8, 2021. Thank you greatly to all the host lake organizations, the speakers, community partners and The Nature Conservancy for stepping up as an initial lead sponsor.

OWLA Public Forum- April 7th 2021 - 7 pm to 8 pm
Speaker: Dr. Hilary Lambert
The 10-year Saga of Hydrilla in Cayuga Lake, & Other Water-Protection Challenges
Dr. Lambert's talk will include a summary of the ups and downs of attempting to contain hydrilla in Cayuga Lake, eradicate it where found, and the role of her organization in educating the public to help find and report hydrilla. A cast of many individuals, agencies and organizations has been part of the fight - which continues in 2021.
