I hope everyone is doing well as we are only one month away from finals! Sacramento artist offers art studio perfectly ‘Taylor’d’ to the community

Sacramento artist Taylor Pannell was raised by women who gave back to their community. Pannell wanted to do the same with her very own Taylor'd Mind Studios.

Though the studio was affected by COVID-19, Pannell's studio has held limited in-person open mic nights, art shows and virtual art classes for both adults and children. Taylor’d Mind Studios is meant to be a hub for creatives to share their art, network and relieve stress.

Sac State professor’s book gets plugged on ‘The Late Show’

Child and adolescent development professor JaNay Brown-Wood's children's book "Imani's Moon" was plugged on "The Late Show" by host Stephen Colbert.

“Imani’s Moon” is a book about a little girl who is bullied by the other children in her village for being so small, until her mother tells her a story about the moon goddess Olapa and Anansi the spider, which inspires Imani to reach for the moon herself.
