Meeting Long Term Care Needs in Today's Environment

As people live longer, more individuals are requiring help with care at home or extended stays in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The cost associated with receiving that care can be daunting—often exceeding $100,000 per year. Long Term Care insurance helps individuals plan for this care and protect their retirement savings.

However, the Long Term Care industry has faced significant challenges. Since the first policies were issued, changes in key pricing assumptions and consumer behavior has led to poor experience and many insurance companies leaving the market. To combat these challenges, Actuaries have been involved in the development of innovative product designs which help meet clients’ needs while reducing risk for the insurance company.

Actuaries from Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee will go over some of the history and new developments in Long Term Care insurance and look forward to networking with you after the presentation!
