Weekly Update, April 9, 2021
Dear Members and Friends,

Bible scholar N.T. Wright describes Good Friday as the “Day the Revolution Began,” a reminder that what looked like the end of Jesus’ story was, in fact, a new beginning.  Death is not victorious, the grave does not stay closed forever.

Easter is such a glorious day, and this year the weather even cooperated!  I know that for most of us Easter didn’t feel quite right this year.  But it was such a blessing to have people worshiping together in the sanctuary and to know that others were worshiping at home.  We were even able to sing!  At the end of the service we recessed outside to the plaza and wearing our masks sang Jesus Christ Is Risen Today.  It felt so good to sing!

When I think about the resurrection I’m reminded of that old line, ‘Well this changes everything.’  We are changed in light of what happened on the cross and on Easter morning.  It really is the day the revolution began.  Life isn’t the same and life should never be the same again.  That’s the beauty and power of knowing Jesus.  He changes us.  He clears out all the old muck and mire, the sin and death, and He fills us with new life.  Thanks be to God!

                                                                             Peace & Blessings,
                                                                             Pastor Tony

A wife invited some people to dinner.  At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?"  "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
