Are you looking for up-to-date training on ADHD care? Mental health and medical providers often seek the best information in order to improve care for their patients with ADHD.

Pocket MD is a podcast-based course provided by CHADD’s National Resource Center on ADHD in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
to help prepare physicians, physician assistants, and advanced practice nurses to effectively diagnose, treat, and manage ADHD in children and adults.

Pocket MD addresses four barriers medical professionals must often overcome to provide ADHD care:
  • need for education
  • the need for an appropriate diagnosis, including possible comorbid conditions
  • constraints with recognition, management, and treatment
  • difficulties in creating a multidisciplinary treatment approach throughout the lifespan
Experts lay out a plan for systematically managing medication, considering differences in formulations, medication monitoring, and managing side effects. They elaborate behavioral management interventions and discuss how to help patients implement behavioral strategies as part of treatment.

This course is designed to help mental health and medical professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage ADHD. Practitioners will improve their ability to personalize care in order to meet individual patient needs and collaborate effectively.
