Worldwide, South Asians account for 60 percent of the heart disease burden, even though — at 2 billion people — they make up only 25 percent of the planet's population.
The South Asian Heart Center has teamed up with MITs South Asian Alumni Association as it presents the state of the science on heart disease and prevention. Join us on Friday April 9th at 9 am PST, 12 noon EST to hear from key researchers, physicians, and centers at the forefront of understanding why we all know someone that has either died suddenly or had premature cardiovascular disease.
Presenters include Dr. Alka Kanaya, Principal Investigator of the MASALA study from UCSF, Dr. Jagat Narula, Associate Dean for Global Health and Director of Cardiovascular Imaging at Mt Sinai Hospital, Dr. Amit Khera, Associate Director of the Program in Medical and Population Genetics at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and Mr. Ashish Mathur, Co-founder and Executive Director of the South Asian Heart Center at El Camino Health.
