Hello <<First Name>>,

Sometimes, there are a lot of completed hats; other times, not so. Right now, there are only two WIPs (works in progress).
Two WIP hats

The pink monstrosity is a 'life-in-the-bubble hat.' It's a figure-it-out-as-you-go engineering challenge. Hence, the millinery wire poking up. The hat is too heavy to support itself!

Whereas, the blue-ish hat merely needs to dry.  It is the final style from Stunning Hats Class, taught by felted hat master, Zsofia Marx. We had our follow-up class on Sunday. However, I was unable to attend because I was visiting family. I'll watch the recording when Zsofia posts it.

Do you see it?
Duck Nouveau Vase

Two weeks ago, I shared other projects from another amazing, online felting class - Fiona Duthie's Felt + Paper.

Yes, doesn't this felted vessel look like an Art Nouveau-style glass vase crossed with a Duck? Maybe it's just the colors?

Interestingly, this yellow vessel is lighter in weight and less rigid compared to the turquoise one below (which has more layers of paper). It's almost rigid! This quality might not be comfortable right next to the head, but it is useful to have as an option. Much better than needing to resort to millinery wire!

The differences that paper can add to felt are fascinating! I really want to dive into some NEW wizard-style hats that incorporate paper. Although they sometimes puzzle me gravity-wise, I do LOVE creating this kind of larger-than-life ArtHat.

Naturally, I also want to explore those spiraling, Guggenheim Museum-like shapes that I learned with Zsofia. They are so very wearable!  But, I also ~need~ to make a 'bunch' of whimsical, strawberry hats as they are perennially popular, as you can see from this Instagram post.

So many choices; so little time! What to make next? Stay tuned!

In the meantime...

Wishing you a wonderful week!

With appreciation,
