A Free soothing foot spa & NEW Yoga for Better Sleep...

A Quick Hello to let you know about two offerings this month to help with soothing mind and body.

Tomorrow evening -  FRIDAY 9th April, 7.30pm to 8.30pm - I'm offering a Weleda themed free foot spa.

Why?  Last month I wish I'd recorded the "Ooohs and Arghhhs" as people put their feet into bowls of hot water!  We take our feet for granted, and yet how many thousands of miles do they walk, carrying our weight, without us giving them some love back?

"My feet felt amazing afterwards, really soft and pampered.  I hadn't realised how tired and stiff they were".

"Joining others on Friday evening was much needed; living on my own I'm missing people so much.  Thank you."

Whilst your feet are enjoying a well-deserved pamper time I will offer a guided meditation, then we massage feet and hands in simple yet soothing ways.  This is followed by a talk exploring the Weleda "Lead Plants" philosophy - the connection between nature and people is the key for the plant to become a source of human vitality and balance..

You will need:-  A bowl large enough to put both feet in, up to your ankles.  Your favourite Weleda Bath Milk and massage oil.**  A blanket, and cotton socks.  A hot drink of your choice to sip is lovely too.
** Or whatever you have to hand.  Just soaking your feet in hot water is bliss!

REPLY TO THIS NEWSLETTER - and I'll send you further details and the Zoom link to join our relaxed online foot spa. (It's free)

NEW:  Yoga for Better Sleep.

From Thursday 15th April a new, fortnightly "Yoga for Better Sleep" class is starting - 8-9pm.  Slow, gentle, subtle yoga to soothe mind and body, ease out the aches and pains, the kinks and knots that build up within us all through general life, let alone the added pandemic times.  Perhaps even more importantly is the ability of this type of healing yoga to calm your mind and bring a meditative quality to the practice - taking us out of the sympathetic nervous system that is creating agitation or anxiety into the parasympathetic system (think para = parachute to slow down) which supports our immune function, reduces inflammation, improves overall mental wellbeing and boosts our mood naturally.  Best of all - we regain a better sense of perspective.

COST:  £7 drop in (£5 for current Birch Moon Yoga Community members).
You would need a yoga mat (or your bed is fine), light-weight blanket, yoga bolster or pillow and a yoga block or large book.
Who is this for? EVERYONE!  The "Power of Slow" lies in its multiple benefits for 21st century living.

MILLY & I walked A LOT in March!

THANK YOU to everyone who very kindly and generously sponsored me during my March "Step Forward to End Homelessness" for Crises.  Whilst I walk everyday with Milly, this was very different to do so with that sense of awareness.   It really made me think far more deeply about why people end up homeless, sofa surfing, or in difficulty.  My goal was to raise £350 - and everyone's generosity boosted that to £575!!  I was incredibly touched - it - makes - a - huge - difference.

TO CLOSE...
Wise words from John O'Donohue.  In any way you can - reach out to enhance your sense of belonging.  Call someone you haven't spoken to for a while, don't allow this abnormal situation to lull you into an unwelcome, 'normal' cave of isolation.  Join a class, (come to the free foot treat!), arrange a walk, meet for coffee (soon!)  We are at winter's-end...a cold spring is here, and warmth is on its way.

To be human is to belong. Belonging is a circle that embraces everything; if we reject it, we damage our nature. The word 'belonging' holds together the two fundamental aspects of life: Being and Longing, the longing of our Being and the being of our Longing.

Go gently friends,
Namaste,
Sarena
