Unity Chapel of Light
Participates in
the Akron Area Interfaith Council’s
12th Annual Hunger Walk

Each year the members and friends of Unity Chapel of Light participate in the annual fundraising walk to support the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank’s efforts to feed our hungry neighbors. Each year this ministry ranks in the top fundraisers and in the number of walk participants.

This year the walk is virtual so we cannot walk together but we can stand together in the fight against hunger. Since COVID there is a 31% increase, or 93,660 food insecure people in Summit Co. and a 44% or 30,270 increase in food insecure children in the county.  On Sunday April 18th and 25th Charlotte Hays will be in the fellowship hall to receive your gifts in support of the walk.  I personally invite you to join me in making your best gift to this important community organization.

If you choose to make a gift of $100.00 or more, you will receive a beautiful custom designed Unity coffee mug. Not everyone can make a 100.00 gift now, but everyone can make a gift and every gift is important. Every gift helps us get closer to the goal of ending hunger in our community.

If you can’t be in the church on April 18th or 25th you can still make a gift! Scan this QR code with your phone and it will take directly to a PayPal link specifically designed to support this campaign.

Check out the two videos below.  The first is a compilation of image from previous events. You just might see your picture here. Note our music team providing music at a previous walk. Thanks to Barbara Bellamy, Bryan Thomas and Travis Baiera. (Barbara returns to play the Baldwin piano on this Sunday April 11th)

The second video will post on our Facebook page on Sunday April 18. Please like and share this. You will see a button that looks like a little paper airplane on the top right-hand corner of the video. Click this button to share on you favorite social media pages. Do it for the over 30,000 children in the county experiencing food insecure. Do it today!
