At our last Congregational Conversation, we celebrated the different ways we have been and continue to be the Church during Covid including:
Meeting regularly as a church throughout the pandemic
Book studies continuing through the year
Spring Creek Road Cleanup
Conversations in a Challenging Time (4-part series)
Inreach/Outreach activities were maintained
Engagement through UVA in Children’s Caucus and Homelessness Coalition... and much more!
There are so many ways in which we saw — and continue to see — the Spirit at work in our midst. This year, as we journey through Eastertide to Pentecost, the Leadership Team is inviting you into three conversations... to explore, to lean into and discover together the new life that is before us.
Beginning with these conversations, we want to explore together as a community:
What does it mean to be in covenant one with another?
Beyond worshiping together, are we living together in a way that reflects the new life God is calling us to?
You are invited to attend these three conversations via Zoom. Zoom invitations will be sent out shortly before each conversation.
Be sure to save these dates:
Wednesday, April 21st
6:00 to 7:30 PM
Wednesday, May 5th
6:00 to 7:30 PM
Wednesday, May 19th
6:00 to 7:30 PM
There will be time for prayer, reflection, and sharing. There will be time for us to listen to the Spirit and discern what our next steps might be. Your contribution to these conversations will make the experience richer for all of us.
Be the Church, wherever you are
working for the common good of the whole
as faithful followers of Christ
in community with one another and others.

Worship With Us This Sunday
Community Spirit UCC gathers each Sunday morning for an online worship service via Zoom. Log in between
10:15 and 10:25 AM. Worship begins at 10:30 AM.
All you need is a phone or a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone AND a weekly email invitation from
Pastor Karen with the link to follow. (Reach out to her at
revkaren@communityspiritucc.org if you're not receiving
these invitations.)
Please check your email inbox on Saturday to make sure you’ve received your worship link
for worship the following day. This will give you time to be in touch with Karen if you need help. If you’re
running late on Sunday morning and run into trouble, please
reach out to a fellow church member who
may be able to forward their Zoom link or help you troubleshoot. After 10:15 AM., Karen does not check
her email or texts.
Guest Preacher This Sunday
We are pleased to welcome Rev. Wendy Kidd to our virtual pulpit this Sunday, April 11th. In addition to being a valued
member of the Western Association, Wendy is also our association’s representative to the Rocky Mountain Conference
Board of Directors. Watch for a Zoom link from Pat Riddell a day or two before the service. (You can
email her if you don't receive it.)
Karen will be away until Monday, April 12th. If you should have a pastoral care need during this time, please reach out
to Pat Riddell and she will arrange for you to be ministered to.
Spring Creek Road Cleanup
It's road cleanup time again! As is our practice every spring and fall, we will be gathering at Loncar Park (15236 6165 Road, Montrose) on Sunday, April
25th at 2:00 PM to clean up along our two-mile stretch of Springcreek Road. Bring hats and work gloves... the In/Out
team will take care of the rest.
Please plan to stay afterwards and we will spend about 30 minutes assembling more homeless care kits (containing personal
and hygiene items) for our friends at the Lighthouse Shelter. We will then reward our hard work with refreshments
and lively conversation. What a wonderful way to spend a spring afternoon!
30-Minute Sanctuaries
Beginning on Monday, April 12th at 6:00 PM, LaForet is sponsoring 30 Minute Sanctuaries
on every other Monday. Step away from the noise and enjoy a structured time of short reflections and intentional silence.
Featuring Rev. Karen Winkel, Rev. Roger Butts, Rev. Logan Bennett, Rev. Erin Gilmore, Rev. Sue Artt, and Spiritual Director
Robin Stretch-Crocker.
The Leadership Team has created this chart to show the many ways that we serve each other and the community. You are invited to browse it for ideas on ways you might participate in our many ministries. If you have questions, please direct them to Carol Keeney (831-535-2596).
