○ The NCMA recently opened a new exhibit entitled To Be Young: Coming of Age in the Contemporary. The exhibition offers a youth’s perspective on coming of age across various communities + challenges how society defines maturity. 🎨

○ The City of Raleigh will begin mapping the hottest parts of the city in a community-led campaign. From mid-June to late-July, volunteers will use heat sensors to identify urban heat islands + develop effective solutions.
Dish
○ Black Restaurant Week Carolinas kicks off tomorrow at participating restaurants in the Triangle — including The Chicken Hut, Bon Fritay, Sweetheart Treats and Pure Soul. Restaurants will offer fixed-price brunch, lunch + dinner menus. 🍽️

○ Morrisville-based Istari Oncology raised $43.5 million in its latest funding round. The biotech company is testing an injectable drug — PVSRIPO (a modified form of the polio virus) — to target + treat bladder cancer. (Triangle Business Journal)
○ Durham-based Baebies was awarded up to $11.6 Million in funding from CARB-X. The company specializes in early disease detection + is working to develop a rapid diagnostic platform for sepsis.

Coronavirus
○ Gov. Roy Cooper announced yesterday that he plans to lift the majority of COVID-19 restrictions by June 1. Restrictions limiting capacity at indoor restaurants, bars and concert venues are among those that will be lifted, along with limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings.
