Cannes-Winning Filmmaker Wraps
Production for Latest Movie in Evansville

EVANSVILLE: The Evansville Film Commission, operated by Visit Evansville, is working with Pigasus Pictures LLC to establish film locations and props for their next film titled "RUNNER." The cast and crew started filming in early April in Evansville and will wrap filming April 19th in Downtown Evansville. Through social media, Visit Evansville secured several props and film sites thanks to Evansville's citizens.

The film is from the development lab at the Sundance Film Festival entitled "RUNNER." Written and Directed by Cannes-winning filmmaker Marian Mathias and produced alongside 2021 Sundance award-winning filmmaker Joy Jorgensen. The film follows an 18-year-old girl dealing with her father's sudden death and whose life takes an unexpected turn when she carries out his last wish to be buried in his hometown along the Ohio River.

Filming locations for the production have ranged from all over the state of Indiana, including Michigan City, Terre Haute and Richmond. This film already has its domestic and worldwide distribution in place and will be a great sponsorship opportunity for local businesses. Zachary Spicer, owner of Pigasus Pictures LLC says “Ever since we first visited Evansville in 2016 with the tour of our first film THE GOOD CATHOLIC, we have always wanted to shoot a film there. The unique setting of the historical city right on the river and the varied landscapes and people of Evansville make it a perfect backdrop for the big screen.” He added,” We hope this is the first of many films to be shot here in the years to come.”

Pigasus Pictures is an Indiana-based film production company founded in Bloomington, IN by a few born and bred Hoosiers. Their focus since 2015 has been building Indiana's film-making industry from the ground up and making internationally acclaimed films in the heart of Indiana.
