Kent community members gathered on Wednesday to join the Stand Together Against Hate rally organized by the university's Asian, Asian American, Pacific Islander Faculty and Staff Alliance.
- The march gathered in response to an uptick in hate crimes directed toward Asian Americans in recent weeks and since the start of the pandemic.

'The soccer balls were shooting goose poop into the air!'
Brimfield trustees didn't beat around the bush at Wednesday's meeting. The township center is covered in goose poop and they're working on a solution.
One trustee said the best way to get rid of them is to hire someone with a dog. Another suggested giving them stomach aches. Or chasing them with, um, tiny speedboats.
More from around the county:
- Ravenna Township trustees shared updates on the maintenance of Grandview Cemetery and announced upcoming township cleanup events at this week's meeting.
- Local Girl Scouts will be aiding the cleanup effort in Shalersville. Read about the plans here.

Main Street Ravenna presented its plan for more green space in Downtown Ravenna yesterday, but the proposal met with some resistance on the issue of parking.
The idea is to reverse the impressions expressed in local surveys that Ravenna "feels dirty." To do that, a group of business leaders and designers are trying to increase foot traffic and break up the concrete jungle.
