News to Know from Visit Estes Park

In case you missed it: Kara Franker appointed CEO

Franker will lead the strategic planning and execution of all operations including tourism marketing initiatives, stakeholder communications, government relations, staff management, financials and community engagement efforts. She will serve as the lead spokesperson for the destination regionally and nationally, and will report to the VEP Board of Directors. She starts the position in early May. Read more.

2021 Featured Listing Lottery

Keep an eye out for an email inviting you to participate in the lottery for featured listings on visitestespark.com; the entry form is scheduled to go out next week. Everyone who fills it out by May 1 will be entered to win a free full page ad in the 2022 Official Visitor Guide—both print and digital—so make sure to enter before the deadline!

New to the lottery?

The lottery is a computerized, random drawing to determine which tourism-industry businesses get the coveted featured listings under each category on visitestespark.com, since demand for these spots is greater than supply. Lottery winners have first right of refusal of any placements won and waitlists (also generated by the random drawing) determine which business is offered the placement should the winner choose not to accept it. Placements are charged as part of your advertising buy with Visit Estes Park.

Complete details of the lottery will be outlined in next week’s email, but if you have questions in the meantime, email Abi Huebner for more information.
