Update on UGA Vaccine Administration

All adults over the age of 16 in Georgia are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. The University Health Center (UHC) is issuing invitations for appointments and you will be contacted via email when it is your turn to be vaccinated. Vaccines will be given by appointment only and they ask that you remain patient. To learn more details about vaccines and UGA’s process for administering them, visit the  UHC’s FAQs .

VEText Schedules COVID-19 Vaccinations

As an alternative to getting your vaccine at UGA, veterans are scheduling COVID-19 vaccination appointments at the VA through VEText. VEText is an interactive digital solution from the VA that automatically reminds veterans of upcoming appointments via text messaging. Click here for more information.

Changes to Veteran Readiness & Education (VR&E) Benefits (Chapter 31)

You should have received an email from the VA regarding changes to Chapter 31 VR&E benefits. As of April 1, 2021, the VA will no longer count the use of VR&E benefits against other VA education benefits (i.e., the Post-9/11 GI Bill). However, using other education benefits, such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill, does count against your use of VR&E benefits. For some of our veterans, this could be a way to significantly extend education benefits.

If you have any questions due to this issue, please contact the Education Call Center at 1-888-442-4551, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Central Time.
