Happy Friday readers!

Hope you enjoyed the long bank holiday weekend! Do you think we’re one step closer to joining Spain and their four-day working week?

Earlier this week I watched “Coded Bias” on Netflix and haven’t really been able to stop thinking about it since.

The majority of the film’s central characters are women and people of colour. When equal representation across academia and the tech ecosystem still feels far from reality, the film shows what could be and made me hopeful for the future. It also matters because women and people of colour often suffer from the bias built into A.I systems. The film’s director, Shalini Kantayya talks more about this here

The A.I ethics debate is as vast as it is nuanced.  I’ve collected a few links to stories, interviews and opinion pieces on the topic for you to read and explore. Hope you  enjoy and as always - have a great weekend!
