ROWER PRACTICE CHECKLIST!

1) Fill out the form in the Google Classroom NO LATER THAN 3:15pm for weekday practices. You will not be allowed to practice if the form is not filled out. There is no internet service at the marina.

2) Bring Water! - Lake Braddock requires 32oz - Coach Phil recommends doubling or quadrupling this amount! It will get hot on the water! (No metal water bottles, please, to protect the boats.)

3) Face Mask (+protective eyewear for coxswains)

4) FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE - TRYOUT CARD & EMERGENCY CARE CARD

Drum roll please…… We’re back on the water!!!

Families and friends, we finally got the green light to get back on the water!!! There will be limitations to keep our athletes and coaches safe but this is a great step in the right direction. The Board voted to reduce previously approved registration fees from $900 to $750 given the limitations on the season. Registration is live on www.BruinCrew.com but check your email first if you had a SCRIP balance, rolled over your refund from last year, or opted for the discounted winter conditioning fee but did not use it. Emails with discount codes were emailed on 5 April from lbcrewpresident@gmail.com. Registration closes on 18 April- no exceptions. Please try to virtually attend the parent information meeting next Tuesday at 7:30 pm. We have much information to share given the unique conditions this season will bring. It is imperative that you know how you can support your athletes and the team to make this a triumphant return to the water. This is the only information meeting we will be having. Athletes can participate but must be with a parent since we’re using Zoom (FCPS rules). Hope to “see” everyone on Tuesday for the information meeting!!

Board- we need new members for next season! The board members’ terms will end in June and we need to find replacements for more than half of the existing board. Please consider volunteering. The Board cannot function with less than half of the positions filled. If you want more information about a specific position, please reach out to that board member or email LBCrewpresident@gmail.com and you’ll be connected.

One of our board members will be holding a yard sale and all proceeds will be donated to LBSS Crew. Please drop off your donations to 5421 Rilian Ct. between April 28-May 1. Yard Sale will be held on May 1 from 8:00-12:00. All unsold merchandise will be donated to local charities.

Lake Braddock Crew will be holding their annual letter writing campaign. Please have your rower log onto the google classroom and give 10 addresses of family members. If you are uncomfortable with this, you can pick up a packet to mail on your own.

Scrip (now also known as RaiseRight) allows you to purchase gift cards that earn rebates that can be used towards your individual rower’s Crew expenses.

The LB Crew Scrip Coordinator has Giant grocery (physical) gift cards available in $50 and $100 cards. Giant only accepts physical gift cards for SCRIP. They can be purchased via cash or check, and there is already inventory on hard so they can be acquired immediately.
