PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello SBL Families!
I hope this finds you and your families well. I wanted to remind everyone that beginning this
Sunday 4/11, ALL SBL families and teams will enter through the Tennis Court gates located off Yukon Ave. We are NO LONGER using the blue gate entrance. Please review the
field map below for more detail (NOTE: there was an error on the map that has been fixed).
WALKWAYS: To access the PeeWee Field and restrooms, please cross the field (carefully) and avoid the blacktop near the basketball courts.
NHS AREAS: Sansei Baseball League is permitted to use the baseball fields ONLY! Please do not use/cross basketball courts or any other NHS area that is not designated for baseball usage (excluding restroom). Please review the
field map for more detail.
SPECTATING: To prevent socializing and potential crowding, please attend practice ONLY IF you are helping your Coach(es) or Parent Reps with practice (TBall and PW exceptions). Please keep spectating limited to members of your household (as specified in the
California Department of Public Health Guidelines).
NOTE: In weeks to come, we can expect more people (from other organizations) being on campus so we will need to make sure that we stay within our area while maintaining a safe distance from each other. As new instructions from the City/State are announced, we will be making adjustments to our practice guidelines. The list of guidelines is on the
schedules page so please check back often for updates.

SOFTBALL CLINIC
We're offering a Softball Clinic for girls that are interested in working on their fundamentals. This is being offered to all girls that are in the PW to MAJ3 divisions. Learn from SBL alumni and fine tune your skills!
All SBL Covid-19 protocols will be in place for this event.

T-BALL CLINIC
Come and experience Sansei T-Ball and the Spirit of Sportsmanship at our T-Ball Clinic! We are offering this clinic for all
players ages 4-6! If your team isn't participating in practice this season but you want to continue to work on your skills, this is a great chance to work on your fundamentals!
We are limiting this event to the first
30 participants. All SBL Covid-19 protocols will be in place for this event.

Go For Broke National Education Center - Lawson Iichiro Sakai Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is funded by the family and friends of Lawson Sakai, who served in the 442nd RCT during WWII. Applications are in tandem with our
9th Annual GFBNEC High School and College Student Contest for which they are currently accepting essay and poetry submissions. First place winners from each category will be awarded $1,000 and additional monetary awards will be given to second and third place winners. Click the link above to learn more about the opportunity.

Go For Broke National Education Center
One of our newest projects, Letters to Home, is an effort to collect written material: letters, diaries and journals both to and from Japanese American soldiers during WWII. By gathering these stories, we hope to illustrate and explore the individual humanity expressed through these correspondences. This project is the basis for a future documentary that is in partnership with ABC7 News Anchor and documentarian, David Ono, who is also a member of our Board of Directors.
