Four months into 2021, US venture funding reached $64 billion with some mega funding events like Cruise’s $2 billion round led by Microsoft and GoPuff's $1.15 billion round led by Softbank. 

Who else is leading these mega rounds?  Here is a short list: 

  • Franklin Templeton Investments led the $1B round for Databricks
  • Ribbit Capital led the $1B round for Robinhood
  • Sequoia led $850M round for SpaceX
  • Coatue and Alkeon Capital led $750M round for UiPath
  • Coatue led $590M round for Sila Nanotechnologies
  • Advent International and Oaktree Capital Management led $750M round for Thrasio
  • Allianz X, AXA Group, Baillie Gifford, Fidelity led $600M round for Stripe
  • Matrix Capital Management led $525M round for ElevateBio


This week a total of 25 startups raised $1.3B in funding, M&As:

  • $314.4M goes to 11 Enterprise startups
  • $425M goes to 1 FinTech startup
  • $5.3M goes to 1 Crypto startup
  • $4M goes to 1 Education startup
  • $45M goes to 2 FoodTech startups
  • $260.3M goes to 4 Healthcare startups
  • $58.5M goes to 2 BioTech startups
  • $12M goes to 1 Robotics startup
  • $37.5M goes to 2 Logistics startups
