Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Easter so well in all of our parishes this year.
To those who helped prepare our churches by cleaning, sanitising, and decorating. To those who helped at our Masses by welcoming, stewarding and leading music and singing. And to all who were able to celebrate with us in church or online; a huge thank you to you all. Despite this strange environment, our Easter celebrations this year were times of joy, prayer and quiet contemplation.
Can we also thank you for the great generosity that you showed to the priests in this year’s Easter Offering? It was very moving to see the effort and thoughtfulness that so many of you had put into showing your care and affection for our priests. Thank you very much indeed.
In these seasons of Easter and Spring, when our attention is turned toward new life, we pray that in our country and personal lives we too may flourish anew.

Frs Francis, Pius, Brendan and Stanley. Dcns Jon and Klaus

Summer Webinars
After a roller-coaster year, what’s next for our churches?  How can we encourage our congregations to return?  How do we ‘build back better’?

Join with Avril and special guests on Monday evenings from 19th April as we read Fr James Mallon’s book Divine Renovation and try to answer these questions.  Week by week we will unpack this guide to becoming a missionary church with special guest speakers, begining next Monday with Bishop David.

Suitable for everyone, whether you want to delve right in and read Divine Renovation, or just join the conversation and pick up tips!  You don’t have to read the book to get something out of this, but you might find it useful.

Mass for Sick or Housebound
On Saturday 24th April at 3pm Bishop David will celebrate a special live-streamed Mass for the Sick. The Mass is for all those suffering with illness, especially for anyone who is housebound.  You can access the Mass via the Cathedral live-stream page.  Nearer the time we will add a printable service sheet will be available. “On behalf of the Catholic community in the Diocese I join my prayers with those of Cardinal Vincent Nichols for the repose of the soul of Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.  We pray during this Easter week that he may see the light on the face of the risen Christ. We also pray that Our Lord will strengthen and uphold Her Majesty The Queen and all her family in the days ahead.”

Bishop David Oakley

Bishop of Northampton
