  • Governor Andy Beshear announced $23 million committed for school highway safety projects. Projects awarded in the Lincoln Trail region included LaRue, Marion, and Nelson counties. Read about it in the Lane Report, HERE
  • Governor Beshear announced Log Still Distillery, in southern Nelson County, will create 126 full-time jobs with a $24 million Phase 2 investment to open Dant Crossing. Click HERE for the official press release.

KPAP (Kentucky Prescription Assistance Program)  Free medications to those who qualify. Call 270-401-3842 for more information.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman; Contact Ms. Beverly Broadus, 502-965-8304 if your loved ones have experienced care issues while in a Nursing Home.

SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) 270-769-8609 - Provides assistance to people making decisions regarding Medicare.

"Aging Trivia"
New Seniors have been added to each program on nearly a daily basis. LTADD has removed all Seniors from the wait list. Meade County Meal recipients have been offered additional vouchers to assist them during this difficult time. If you know of a Senior needing assistance, please have them contact 270-737-6082.

The Lincoln Trail ADD has officially kicked-off the Hazard Mitigation Update process by meeting with local officials and stakeholders regarding the update to the LTADD Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan. Your input and cooperation is appreciated! 

Reminder for Community Leaders! - Don't forget to turn in your Hazard Mitigation Update Worksheet. 

Reminder for Everyone! - Help your community prepare for disasters by participating in a short survey on you and your community’s disasters preparedness. Feel free to share the survey from LTADD's Facebook and Twitter pages and invite others to take the survey. Public input matters!

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF)
The Department for Local Government (DLG) is currently accepting applications for funding cycle 2021 for the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). Both programs have a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $250,000 for projects.
 
The RTP grant can assist in acquisition of easements, development and/or maintenance of recreational trails and trailhead facilities for both motorized and non-motorized use. The grant requires the applicant to provide a 20% match at minimum and funded through the Federal Highway Administration. The deadline to submit applications to DLG is May 31, 2021. The LWCF program provides federal grant funds to protect important natural areas, acquire land for outdoor recreation and to develop or renovate public outdoor recreation facilities. Examples of public outdoor facilities include campgrounds, picnic areas, sports & playfields, swimming facilities, boating facilities, fishing facilities, trails, natural areas and passive parks. The grant requires a 50/50 match and funded through National Park Service. The deadline to submit applications to DLG is May 31, 2021. Click HERE to learn more about LWCF.

The Department for Local Government (DLG) announced the 2021 application cycle for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is now open. The grant period for Community Projects and Public Facilities projects will be April 1, 2021 – September 1, 2021.  The application window for Economic Development, Housing, CERF, and Public Services will be April 1, 2021 – January 31, 2022.
