Faith, Not Fear!

The greatest enemy of our spiritual life is fear because fear is the opposite of faith. A man or woman who lives with fear is bound up and unable to walk in the way God designed…Fear binds us and confines us, rendering us powerless. Most tragically, it keeps us from simple, restful confidence in the sufficiency of God and is a weak testimony to a watching world.

So what should we do when we are faced with fear? Run to the right source.

"What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer."

The dichotomy of God be transcendent and near is one that we may not understand on this side of eternity. I think we can forget the privilege we have to pray to the Almighty. Some of us may have the tendency to believe that He too busy to listen to our issues. Or we may think that He will not do anything. His Word says the opposite. It says He draws near to the brokenhearted and hears like a father. However your approach may have been today or yesterday, let us be reminded that our God loves to listen to our prayers. It is a great privilege and honor for us to be able to pray. We are excited for this coming Sunday as we enter into the presence of God together. Here are the songs we will be singing.

Preschool: Our Preschool Sunday attendance is continuing to increase! We are so glad to see many families returning to in person worship and we are also thankful for many visitors to GraceLife with preschool boys and girls! As we begin to split up classes in the preschool department, we are praying for volunteers who would be willing to share the love of Jesus with these boys and girls on a monthly or weekly basis – please see Stephanie Hambrick if you would be interested in helping out!
I’m sure most of you have amazing, Spirit filled, sanctified marriages that other people would be envious of. For the rest of us real people, check out this article from Paul Tripp about six daily commitments we can make to help us have a good marriage. Praying for you and your family today! — Pastor Jonathan

Happy Thursday friends!

This Sunday morning we are going to start a new series called “Post it Notes From God”. Each week we will focus on a different message that God has for the boys and girls. This week the message is that “You Matter.” Boys and girls often have wrong thoughts like “I’m a big mistake,” “I’m worthless,” or “I don’t matter to anyone.” The truth is that “God designed us”, “God paid a high price for me (sending Jesus to die on the cross for us),” and “We matter to God.” There are many of us adults who also think wrongly about this topic. The truth according to God’s Word is that He loves each of us. We are His masterpieces. He designed each of us and loves us so much. He paid the ultimate price so that we could live with Him in heaven one day! Please know that we are here for you in the office if you ever want to come in and talk and pray about this with someone! Please also pray for our boys and girls to receive this message on Sunday! — Pastor Dave

VBS is coming this Summer 2021! We will be holding VBS here at GraceLife starting 11 weeks from this Sunday – July 18-22 from 6:00-8:30 pm.
We invite you to GraceLife Kids and family cookout on May 16 directly after the 11 am morning worship service! We will be having a hot dog cookout for all elementary and preschool boys and girls and their families. There will also be blowup toys that day for them to play on! We do need to have a headcount, so please go to gracelifefamily.org/kids to sign up.
