High in the green hills and mountains of the Andes in Peru are ten acres of land that will be used as an instrument of change in the lives of the people of San Ramon, Peru and the surrounding region. You may ask the question, why is this necessary? Because there is a great need to bring the good news of the Gospel to families, young adults and children in this mountain region of Peru.

Light for Living missionaries Scott and Stephanie Anderson and a national pastor and his wife with whom they serve have experienced how Jesus Christ has changed the hearts and lives of many in their city. Now, they see another avenue of ministry outside the walls of the traditional church. Their burden and vision is to build a retreat site where they can hold youth camps, and retreats for men, women and families, a house of worship for this mountain community, and in the future a children’s home for needy children. Another great need is a women’s shelter where women of domestic abuse or death of their spouse or
divorce many get a fresh start in a Christian atmosphere. There is also a need for living quarters for those who minister. In this region of Peru all of this is a bold plan, but the God we serve is in the business of completing bold plans…

Ten acres of land at the top of a mountain has been purchased for about $14,000.00. At the present time the land is being cleared and the design phase is in progress. The property has an available water supply, and electricity is present. After the land is cleared, the team will need about $1000.00 to construct a border around the property.
We continue to be obedient in moving forward with this ministry project. We pray for clarity, and look to God for his continued direction. We are aware that this is a long term project. It will take at least five years to complete this vision, and are looking to God to supply all that is needed to complete the ministry of Refugio de Vida (Life Refuge)
