Video Message from Rev. Shawn
Looking for your contributions to May 2 & May 8 Spirit Gatherings
Rev. Shawn is hoping a few of you can share some ideas with her.
1) May 2nd - Have you ever fallen asleep in church or dozed off during the 'sermon'? You are not alone! This week's story from Acts tells such a story! Can you share a few sentences with Rev. Shawn by this Friday? The other side of that story might be what keeps you awake... engaged... stirs your imagination...feeds your soul in worship?

2) May 8th - Letters to your Visions' family. Let's celebrate Christian Family Sunday/Mother's Day with some messages to each other.
Our reading from Acts covers the time Paul was in prison and wrote many of his letters to the early churches, which we read in our New Testament. Some of these were letters of encouragement to keep faith; some, thank-you notes for the gifts they share with each other; and others, challenged the 'church' to remember or support certain concerns. Would you write a short note to our Visions congregation to use in the service? Contact minister@visionsunited.ca
Community Hub in the News!
We were thrilled to see the Community Hub featured by CBC this past week.  As the building gets closer to completion the excitement from our congregation and the community continues to grow!

Vision Aiders Moment: Mother's Day Gifts
Are you a mother who wants to make a difference? Is there a mother or someone like a mother you want to honour? Do you know people who have lost mothers or mothers who have lost a child? Does anyone you know find Mother’s Day hard? Are there people in your life whose untraditional family unit deserves recognition and celebration?

Please makespecial Mission & Service gift this Mother’s Day/Christian Family Sunday. Your gift will help families in need at home and abroad, supporting things like prenatal and parenting classes, respite care for families with children, medical clinics for babies and mothers, safe shelter, and education for children.

At the same time, when you make a gift online, you can do even more good by sending any number of free e-cards. The cards say things like “Mother’s Day can be so hard. I made a gift to support families in need as I thought about you today. I hope knowing you inspire me to make a difference is a comfort” and “The world needs all kinds of families! You are a blessing!” If you are giving offline, feel free to borrow the wording for print cards.

Either way don’t forget to credit your congregation when you make a gift so that it will count in our Mission and Service total.
