NCVRC is seeking volunteers! This is a great way to give back, get involved, and help our community! Contact us today or visit our volunteer page for more info!
On April 12, the North Central Vermont Recovery Center and Jenna's Promise teams got together to get our staff certified in adult, child, and infant first aid, CPR and AED. It was also an opportunity for us to get together and celebrate the journey we're on, to celebrate and enjoy each other's company, and to be together for the first time as a group. We have a truly special group of people, a special team, and we're poised to do remarkable things together in the years to come. A sincere thanks to our amazing and generous friend, photographer Jay Kennedy, for capturing this occasion.
Thank you to News & Citizen for covering this important issue and for sharing what North Central Vermont Recovery Center is doing to be a part of the solution! Pandemic worsens opioid crisis, death toll mounts

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Partners,
At this time we feel it is necessary to share that while there are always dangerous, potent, and harmful drugs in our community that threatens lives, right now there seems to be a particularly deadly batch of drugs in our community. Recent overdoses where we know Narcan from the recovery center was used in reversals have required an unusually large number of doses of Narcan, which often indicates the presence of fentanyl or carfentanil. These are drugs added into more common substances like heroin and contribute to about 88% of all overdose deaths. In the event of an overdose or other emergency, 911 should always be called, and anyone who administers Narcan is protected by the Good Samaritan Laws from any liability, regardless of the result. In a majority of cases where an overdose occurs, it is a bystander such as a family member or friend or a fellow user who is the first responder, and is in the best position to save a person's life in the first critical moments of distress. That's why it's important for as many of us as possible to carry Narcan as well as information on how someone can get help if they want.
In this spirit, the North Central Vermont Recovery Center has plentiful Narcan that we give out for free, anytime, with no questions asked! Simply stop by and ask a staff member for some. We have an instructional video on how to administer Narcan and other helpful information available at: https://www.ncvrc.com/save-a-life-1 There, you can learn about community resources including the
local MAT Team and Vermont Cares.
We also have Harm Reduction to go Packs, which include three doses of Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other information and supplies. You can learn about them here via this informational video: https://youtu.be/TuWow7JZMcY
We are here for the community and ready to help, along with our many amazing partners in health and human services. Please don't be afraid to reach out if we can help you, or someone in your life that needs support!
Would you like to help demonstrate the value of recovery centers? Would you like to share how you've utilized our recovery center or another recovery center and how it has affected your life? You can take the 2021 Participant Survey at https://www.ncvrc.com/participant-survey and your feedback will be gathered together anonymously with the feedback from other people to give us valuable information that will guide us as we continue to grow, adapt, and evolve to meet the needs of our communities and our state. If you choose to take the survey, thank you for your time and insights!
Don't give up hope. Help is available!
Starting the path to recovery is only a visit, a phone call, or an email away!
