The objective of the Alberta Junior Team is to support the ongoing development of Alberta’s most promising competitive Athletes, to aid their participation at Provincials, Westerns, and Nationals, as well as to prepare these Athletes for the potential of being chosen to ski for Canada at international tournaments, such as the CanAm Challenge, PanAmerican Championships, and Jr. Worlds.

Selection to the Alberta Junior Team is a natural progression from participation on the Alberta Development Program although participation on the Alberta Development Program is not a prerequisite.

One of the goals of the Junior Team is to facilitate access to a holistic approach to training.  These Team Members have access to train at both Predator Bay Water Ski Club and Shalom Park Water Ski Site with coaches available at each site.

Specific Criteria based on results and performances is used to pick the athletes for the team. All criteria can be viewed on our website at www.wswa.ca 

All Athletes and their BIOS will be uploaded to our website in the next few days!  We can't wait to introduce each one of our athletes to you on social media!

ABOUT THE TEAMS:
The Alberta Wake Teams represent athletes who have a desire and commitment to excel in Wake Sport disciplines. In 2021, the Provincial Teams will include wakesurf and wakeboard.

We have a Competitive Team and a Development Team!

OPPORTUNITIES:
Being on the team grants many opportunities for skill development, including:

• having unique early season training opportunities with professional coaches
• the chance to become an official
• ongoing coaching and mentorship opportunities
• involvement in the wake sports community at events
• and support for attending events and training

Lisa Flemming is the newest member to join the Water Ski & Wakeboard Alberta team. She has taken on the role as an Administrative Assistant.    
 

Lisa has a positive attitude, great sense of humor and tireless energy. She is motivated to work hard, succeed within a team and attain goals.
 

Born and raised in Calgary. She currently resides in St. Albert with her partner, their daughter and a small zoo of rescued animals. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors, and exploring in the kitchen.
