A WORD FROM OUR CEO-
Now More than Ever Children Need Caring and Consistent Adults

In the midst of a pandemic, and on the heels of the Chauvin verdict, the deep divisions in our country surrounding race, inequity, justice, politics, and perspective can add an extra layer of anxiety for all of us and can be particularly detrimental to the emotional well-being of young people dealing with trauma.
Mentors are uniquely poised to support youth and pave the way for them to reflect, understand, and heal from the trauma they may be experiencing as a result of these events. Mentors can help to bridge differences, cultivate understanding, and be agents of change by providing a safe and comfortable space to listen with self-awareness and humility. Be sure to reach out to your match support specialist and check out the BBBS Learning Exchange for resources around race, inclusion, cultural awareness, and trauma.

Thank you,
David Sherman
This is just a reminder to please reach out to your Little 5 times a month to check-in and say "Hi!" if you aren't already doing so. Especially if you aren’t able to see them in person. All it takes is 15 minutes once a week to make your Little’s day! 😊
