Join Us for a Virtual Brown Bag Lunch

Scientist in Residency Fellow (SIRF), Max Izenberg, will be hosting free virtual brown bag lunches April 28th and May 5th at 12pm on Listening as a Science: How social science can help us better understand our world.

Max’s online presentation will be about the power of social science and how social science is an important part of community work here in Sitka. As a partner on the Landslide Warning System, Max will discuss how social science is a part of that work, how social science is a tool for understanding the world at large, and how we can help address ecological concerns like landslides (and more) with social science!

Max Izenberg is a Social Scientist and PhD student with the Pardee RAND Graduate School of Public Policy. Izenberg has supported community-partnered policy research and worked with policymakers across many countries to develop and evaluate policies related to public health, disaster recovery, social protection, and migration.
