Good Change is Possible
After a year of too many changes, sometimes it is hard to remember that change can be a good thing. At the HOPE Centre we are lucky enough to see good changes all the time, especially with our counselling clients.
Why would someone come for counselling? Many reasons. Stress, anxiety, mental health challenges or maybe the tools you once used to cope with difficult situations aren't available or aren't working anymore.
Counselling gives you a chance to talk to someone in a confidential and safe space. Counselling is more than talking to a friend, it is talking to someone who listens without judgement, has an educational background in how humans relate and knows some new tools to help you manage.
Seeing people make good changes in their lives is exciting. We think Kat, one of our counsellors at the HOPE Centre, sums it up well when she says,
After this year, we all have an idea of what it is like to have a lot to handle and needing help with that. COVID showed us we are all human, we aren't meant to live life on our own. We are all on a journey to understanding ourselves and others around us. Coming in and talking to someone is always worth it. I love it when my clients understand themselves and the world around them better and really see changes in their lives. It is amazing.
