This month we share information about our first of a series of upcoming Strategic Planning Workshops. We also update you on the renovations at Owae and Mangaemiemi and we profile some of the kaimahi working on the marae. With a lot of kaupapa coming up including trustee elections it is important we have your most up to date contact details.

STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP

Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa Trust is refreshing its strategic plan and wants to understand what is important to our whānau as we look to the future.

You are invited to join us at our Strategic Planning Workshop to help us chart our direction for the next five-years.

We are presently setting dates and venues for planned engagement hui outside of Taranaki. We will also be undertaking an electronic survey for those whanau not able to participate in person.

Our first whānau workshop will be held at:

Owae Marae, Waitara
Saturday 29 May 2021, 12.00pm - 4.00pm.

Lunch will be provided.

MARAE RENOVATIONS
Last year Te Atiawa marae were successful in receiving support from the Provincial Growth Fund for marae renovations. The funding was available for marae to complete upgrades, to create employment as well as support local businesses. Over the last few weeks, we have started to post updates and photos of the mahi to date.

TE ATIAWA URI INVOLVED IN MARAE RENOVATIONS

As part of the Provincial Growth Fund, marae, Te Puni Kōkiri and Clelands Construction collaborated to complete detailed applications in a short timeframe. This led to this successful outcome for all Te Atiawa marae.  

A major part of this funding was to create jobs, support local tradespeople and businesses. Clelands Construction is completing the majority of the renovations alongside local tradespeople. Within this team there are a number of Te Atiawa uri who are thrilled to be working on their marae. We recently profiled Clelands kaimahi and their experiences about working on this kaupapa.

Recently Te Atiawa Iwi Holdings LP sent a pānui to announce the Expression of Interest for the upcoming Pukekura - The Parade development and other key updates.

TE KOTAHITANGA O TE ATIAWA EDUCATION GRANTS

Firstly, thank you to all who applied for our grants. Successful applicants have been notified and we will update you over the next few months about the recipients and profile their study.

Ngā mihi Anaru

Te Kotahitanga o Te Atiawa CE and staff formally handed over Anaru White, our former Te Kotahitanga Poutuitui /Comms kaimahi, to his new role as Tumu Whakahaere/Programme Manager for the Tupu-ā-nuku Environmental Workforce Development training programme today.
Welcomed by Sam Tamarapa, Anaru Marshall and kaimahi from Te Kāhui Maru Trust, the whakatau was an opportunity for Te Kotahitanga kaimahi to express their gratitude to Ānaru for his services he has given over the last two and half years.
