Port Coquitlam Residents Prioritized for Vaccination as COVID-19 High-Transmission Neighbourhood

Port Coquitlam has been identified as a COVID-19 high transmission neighbourhood. Port Coquitlam residents born in 1981 or earlier (age 40+) can register here and get contacted to book their vaccine appointment on the same day.

COVID-19 Vaccines and Maternity Patients

Health experts in Canada agree that getting a COVID-19 vaccine is the safest choice for most pregnant and breastfeeding women. Research shows that if pregnant women are infected with COVID-19, they are three times more likely to end up in the intensive care unit (ICU) than those infected with COVID-19 who are not pregnant.

More information from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) on the benefits of getting the vaccine while pregnant or breastfeeding:

Pathways Medical Care Directory

PathwaysMedicalCare.ca is a one-stop public directory for patients to easily find the latest clinic updates and appointment options for medical offices across BC. The majority of community-based family physicians are listed.

If you are not yet listed, it is easy to request a listing here.

Nominate an MOA All Star of the Month

Do you know an MOA or work with an MOA who has gone above and beyond for the community, clinic, or for their patients? Let us know about it! We want to highlight the amazing work MOAs in our community are doing. The MOA who is selected will be spotlighted on our social media and Monthly Update newsletter with their picture (if they have one) and the story behind why they are the all star of the month!

What frustrates you about your practice?

Are you ever trying to arrange care for a patient and feel like you're pushing a boulder uphill? Our system has many complications which inadvertently makes care harder for patients and doctors.

We want to know what that frustration is so we can determine how the Division can help.
