The Nanner - Spring 2021 Edition

Word cloud taken from Thank You notes written by Milford High School Freshman
Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we kick off May's Mental Health Awareness Month, The NAN Project is as busy as ever.  Even with vaccinations way up, we know that the mental health consequences of the pandemic will be staying with us for some time. We're well positioned to meet the needs of our partner schools, and we'll be spending the summer retooling to be ready to bring our presentations back into the schools in the fall.   Read below to see all the amazing work we've been up to these past couple months!
Sincerely,
Jake & Ellen

Spring 2021 Recap
Since our last newsletter, we have continued our virtual presentations to students, educators, and community groups throughout Massachusetts. As we near the end of another school year, The NAN Project is proud to say that our team has provided programming to 2,837 students and 1,585 adults that support them!

Partnering with La Colaborativa

Student interns from La Colaborativa teamed up with The NAN Project's Peer Mentors to bring our mental health programming to the Chelsea community! La Colaborativa's interns created colorful, informative visuals, which they presented to their high schools' administrators.

CWLA

As part of The NAN Project's events during Mental Health Month in May, our co-founder Jake Cavanaugh will be featured as a panelist for the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA)'s 2021 Virtual Conference. The panel is titled: "Transitioning to Virtual Strategies to Ensure Continued Service Delivery and Supports." Jake will be speaking about how The NAN Project has continued to address the growing mental health needs of young adults by transitioning to virtual mental health education and suicide prevention programming.

The NAN Project is excited to launch our first in-person Peer Mentor Training in over a year, this June in Malden!
Do you know any young adults who would like to use their story of resiliency to open up the conversation around mental health?
If so please send them our way by having them click the image above to be taken to our Peer Mentor application!
