Next Generation EDU: joint statement

Next Generation EU aims at helping the EU economy recover from the pandemic, but, as it often is, there is a lack of a commitment to invest in the one strategic sector that will ensure the long-term transformation of our societies: Education.

How can the #NextGenerationEU recover if students' and young people's needs are never fully taken into account?

Together with European Students' Union, European Youth Forum, Lifelong Learning Platform and European Disability Network, we have released a statement with our demands for better investments and more transparency.

The Eco Challenge from CANAE

Our Member Organisation from Spain, CANAE, is in full #Ecofighters mode.

As part of the Impact Month, they are organising a challenge to encourage students to come up with new ideas to make schools more sustainable. The challenge consists in recording a creative video. A jury, which Maria from OBESSU Secretariat is also part of, will elect the best videos. The winning team of students will receive 400 euros to start implementing activities in their school.

If you know secondary school students from Spain, we encourage you to share this opportunity with them. Read more in their Instagram page>>

Helping the creation of National School Student Unions in Latvia

Recently we have participated in a webinar organised by Riga Student Council to talk about the importance of representing school students at the national and international level. Our Member Organisations LMS and ESCU shared their history and inspired other students to keep working on creating a national representative of students.

We shared also the Declaration of School Student Rights, one of our most important documents. You can have a look here>>

If you want to know what happened during the webinar (and if your Latvian is good enough), you can also watch the live event here>>
