Welcome to another Highways.Today newsletter.
One of the highlights of this week was World Health and Safety Day. A subject that often causes a lot of eye-rolling and tales of how easy it use to be before all the silly rules. But you can't really argue with the numbers. In the US alone, in the 1920's there were 30,000 fatalities a year in the construction industry, this year just over 1,000.
Managing health and safety can be a very time-consuming and complicated process, but new digital tools can now make that much simpler. One of the best Safety Management Automation tools is Connected Safety Net, an intuitive digital platform that automates and revolutionises safety management, with smartphone and tablet apps to capture site incident reports and evidence and automatically generate documentation for reporting or for legal purposes.
On-site audits and risk assessments have just been added to the Connected Safety Net to simplify these tasks and AI delivers real intelligence and insights to identify risks and make your job-site as safe as possible.
I wish I had these tools available when I was in charge of site safety many years ago. Instead of all the masses of paperwork and late nights I could have been concentrating on actual construction.
Thanks again and stay safe.
