Your Actions Matter!
The Global Action Days 2021 Campaign, in partnership with Now.Here., will engage youth through the Treasure Earth app in small positive actions (Handprints) that each one of us can take to become more compassionate towards Earth. The campaign will mobilise the power of our network and demonstrate how small individual action can have a great impact on our own and our Earth’s wellbeing.
The campaign is designed as a 21-days journey of ‘Compassionate Actions’. These actions will inspire participants to live and act differently by crystallising intentions into concrete actions and new patterns of positive behaviour. Find out more about the campaign here.

Trash Hack Campaign Winners Announced!
The Trash Hack Campaign in collaboration with UNESCO is now finished and we received almost 500 entries from FEE programmes around the world! We want to thank everyone involved, this would not have been possible without our amazing network of active National Operators, teachers and students.

Get Ready for Earth Action Hub!
Workshop Registrations will open soon
The final preparations for Earth Action Hub are in full swing! During the first week of May, registered participants will be able to sign up to 16 fantastic workshops run by a number of inspiring individuals and organisations such as UNICEF, UNEP, Global Center on Adaptation, Climate Ambassadors, PermaYouth, Youth Climate Report, OzGreen, and many more!
Workshop seats are limited to approx. 50 people per session and will be allocated according to the principle of first come, first serve. So remember to register for Earth Action Hub and keep an eye on the website early next month to secure your spot!
What time zones will Earth Action Hub cover?
There will be multiple parallel live sessions (talks, conversations, and workshops) taking place during the times below, so there should be something for everyone:
- 02:00pm-8:00pm UTC on May 21
- 07:00am to 07:30pm UTC on May 22
- 07:00am to 03:00pm UTC on May 23
There will also be a number of inspiring resources and virtual spaces to explore on the platform available at any time over the three days.
Is it your first time hearing about Earth Action Hub?
Earth Action Hub is a youth-led online event and community dedicated to empower people to take climate action. On the 21-23 May 2021, the inaugural event of EAH will take place and is open to everyone aged 16+.

Earth Action Hub is hosted by Foundation for Environmental Education and is organised by a dedicated team of seven individuals from around the world.

New Course on FEE Academy!
We are excited to be launching another FEE Academy course for you! From May 5th, you’ll be able to enroll in the course “Strategies to Advance Circular Economy” where you’ll learn about the basic principles of the Circular Economy and discover ways in which YOU can contribute to it.
Never heard of the Circular Economy? Not a problem! Strategies to Advance Circular Economy is an introductory course for anyone aged 16 and older. Learn more about the relationship between sustainability and the Circular Economy, develop your critical and systems thinking skills, and come up with your very own Circular Economy design solution! This course is self-paced and will be accessible until June 14 th (though it’s so dynamic and fun, we’re sure you’ll finish in no time!).
To get started, create an account on FEE Academy. You will then be given the enrollment key in order to join the course.

BREEF hosts Virtual Youth Environmental Leadership Summit
|

The Bahamas Reef Environment Educational Foundation (BREEF) convened its second Youth Environmental Leadership Summit virtually on March 30th and 31st, 2021 under the theme “Carbon, Corals and Conservation.” During the two-day summit, over 80 students and educators from Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera, Cat Island, Exuma, New Providence, Bermuda, and the U. S. Virgin Islands examined the impact of human-induced carbon emissions on coral reef ecosystems. These young people shared their stories of how they are protecting the coral reefs that protect us, and they inspired each other to take action.
Other presenters included, Young Reporters for the Environment alumna Georgia Birkwieser, Bishop Michael Eldon Schools Eco-Schools students Heather Brockbank and Nevaeh Russell, Cat Island Conservation Institute’s Intern, Camesha Wilburgh, Ministry of Works Assistant Environmental Specialist , Alexio Brown, world-renowned underwater photographer, Shane Gross and Lucaya International School Eco-Schools students Isabella Gouthro, Jeanine Tinajero, and Loisa Wiegand.
“I was truly impressed by all of the students who participated during the Youth Summit. In particular, their conversations about how their schools and communities are taking action to combat climate change and plastic pollution were truly inspiring,” stated BREEF’s YRE Coordinator Allison Ballester-Longley on the success of the summit. Brave New Frontiers for Young Reporters YRE alumni heading to the red planet... Kind of.
Two Young Reporters alumni will be incorporating the crew of MDRS Mission #238 at the Mars Analog Research Station in Hanksville, Utah, starting on January 2nd, 2022. The re-scheduled mission will take place one year later than projected, following a prolonged pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the associated travel restrictions, and public health concerns.

MDRS is one of four Mars-analog research stations currently managed by the Mars Society, an American space-advocacy non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the human exploration and settlement of Mars. Read more about this project here.
