It's all in the eyes

With the face of a racoon, a mouth made from ladybug legs and ivy leaves for her hair, she embodies all nature. The back of her dress is held together by a butterfly and flowers; clover and koi fish are flowing down the folds of her gown. She's dressed in flowers, fish and eyes. All eyes are on her. All eyes are on you as you look at her as she walks nervously across her land.

This stunning Royal Worcester bone china figurine, The Mimic, was conceived and beautifully decorated by the youngest member of our team, Maryem Meddeb.

What eyes?

Here at PRSC we don't like to let anything go to waste - it's one of our core principles in fact - so when Bev found a pile of eye-less cats left over after the creation of The Mimic... well, you can see what happened!

Mugs With A Message to Barclays

We were pleased to be part of this collaboration with Sharklays and Extinction Rebellion, creating a very special consignment of 100 porcelain mugs. These mugs offer a stark reminder of Barclay’s role in the horrendous environmental harm they enable through being Europe’s No 1 financier of fossil fuel projects around the world, and will be sent to executives, directors and key shareholders as well as environmental journalists and celebrity movers and shakers ahead of Barclays Bank AGM next week. Local Elections - May 6th

Yes, we're still talking about the elections! Our recent School of Activism was all about 'active citizenship' - having a say in who runs your city, and how, definitely falls under that category so we're going to keep reminding you to use your vote next week.

Everybody Welcome: protecting your Right to Roam

Last Saturday saw a mass trespass, organised by the Right to Roam campaign and XR, highlighting the absolute necessity for greater access to nature, not just for our public health, but for the health of the environment. Resources included a letter to the landowner, a welcome sign, a press release, and a Trespassers Guide for a quick insight on what to do if challenged. Check out #everyonewelcomehere on Twitter and Instagram to see how it went.

News from Extinction Rebellion

Rebellion of One is a way to take action alone, together; a single-person roadblock, times 1,000. At 11am on 1st May individuals across the UK (seemingly spontaneously) will sit down in the road, alone, in front of traffic. They wear a sandwich board with a simple and emotive message. They remain sitting in the road until they choose to move, or are moved.

"It’s Not Illegal To Care: The Police Crime Sentencing and Courts Bill" is the latest XR podcast, looking at the oppressive new legislation that Priti Patel is trying to foist upon us, and at what it means in both practical terms for those organising protests but also in the wider sense of democracy.

THIS IS AN UPRISING – Join XR for two days of action on June 26-27, the first weekend out of lockdown.

And finally, in a verdict being hailed as a major victory for climate campaigners everywhere, six XR activists were acquitted at Southwark Crown Court earlier this week, after being charged with criminal damage to the Shell HQ building in London’s Waterloo in April 2019.

Avon and Somerset Police admit unlawfully arresting protesters in Covid rules ‘misunderstanding’

In another legal victory closer to home, the four protestors arrested outside the first trial of the Colston 4 are to receive apologies and substantial damages from Avon and Somerset police after the force admitted its declaration of a blanket ban on protest was unlawful, in a case which could have implications for policing of other protests during the pandemic.
