With vaccination numbers rising, your vestry spent much of its meeting this week reviewing questions concerning when and how we resume different kinds of ministries, make changes to pandemic protocols, and continue serving those who still connect with Emmanuel mostly online. We also want to make sure that we take this opportunity to learn from the past year and structure our ministries more effectively when we can, rather than just assuming the pre-Covid structures will be written in stone. We do expect to be able to expand Mass capacity soon, and we will continue following public health guidance in the decisions we make. Watch our communication channels for more news as we move forward.

BISHOP SEARCH LISTENING CONTINUES
The Election Committee continues listening to Episcopalians from all over our diocese as they prepare to tell our story to potential nominees. They've already offered a survey and a chance to submit comments; the final stage is listening gatherings. These will happen on Zoom, with in person options available for those who cannot meet online. The nearest in-person group for laypersons will be offered at Emmanuel on Sunday May 2 from 4-6 p.m. Capacity is limited. You can register for this or any layperson-only session at https://www.episcopalspringfield.org/listening-sessions-registration/
NOEL AND HERBST SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year, thanks to generous donors, Emmanuel is able to offer modest scholarship aid to assist with parishioners' seminary, college, or graduate education. If you or a family member would like to apply, please contact Mary in the office for a copy of the form. The deadline to return applications is Monday May 17th.
MARKETING POSITION
Our friends at Urbana Theological Seminary have a part time (15-20 hours a week) marketing position available, and they have asked local churches to share the opening. If this is of interest, contact the church office for a full job description and application information.
NO INTERNET ACCESS?
Though Breeze is by far the most convenient way to access up to date contact information for Emmanuelites (plus you can update your own profile at any time), we recognize that not everyone owns a smartphone or computer. A printout of Breeze information as of mid-April is now available for pickup; we can also mail or deliver copies. We appreciate your helping inform those without Internet access.
