Upcoming Program Opportunities
Week of APRIL 26

Thanks to all who joined us for Session 2 of our Generation Equality Series, Feminist Action for Climate Justice, a UN Foundation partnership. We were grateful to be joined by Mary Robinson (Former President of Ireland), Laura García (President & CEO of Global Greengrants Fund), and moderator Pat Mitchell (Editorial Director, TEDWomen). This inspiring discussion truly showcased the powerful role women and girls are playing to address the climate crisis. As Laura stated, "We believe that climate justice is a man-made problem that requires a feminist solution.”  If you missed it, you can find the recording here.

Next week, on the eve of President Biden’s Congressional address regarding his American Families Plan, we will be hosting a special #GetEqual briefing on National Paid Leave Tuesday, April 27th at 12:00 pm ET. See details below.

Additionally, don't miss our 3-part Philanthropic Leadership Program Immersion Experience, "Exploring the Intersections of Climate, Gender, & Race", which will begin on Thursday, May 6 at 2 pm ET. Drs. Ayanna Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine Wilkinson will serve as our guest faculty. Learn more here or below - more info to come next week!

SPECIAL #GETEQUAL BRIEFING ON NATIONAL PAID LEAVE IN THE U.S.
Tuesday, April 27, 2021
12 PM - 12:45 PM ET

The global pandemic has forced millions of women in the United States, especially women of color, out of the workforce as they try to care for children, sick relatives, and themselves. Without equitable caregiving solutions, this crisis threatens to reverse all the hard-fought gains won over generations. National paid family and medical leave programs are our best tools for ensuring gender equity in all economic recovery efforts and an essential part of addressing gaps in health care and many challenges in racial justice. In advance of President Biden’s Congressional address on April 28, we offer this special 30 minute #GetEqual briefing to hear from leaders on the frontlines.

Featured Speakers:
Brencia Berry, Vice President of Equity & Political Strategy of PL+US: Paid Leave for the United States
Vicki Shabo, Senior Fellow of Paid Leave Policy and Strategy, Better Life Lab of New America
Moderated by: Xanthe Scharff, Co-Founder & CEO of The Fuller Project
