Our Main Season Farm Share starts May 4!
Andrew is excited about that because he helps us craft the bags each week. Our farm share is like a season-long subscription to our farm, where we both win! We made this short video to explain our most popular farm shares. We're getting our Main Season Farm Share set to start on May 4th. If you want to get in on the full season, please sign up by Friday, April 30. Many thanks to those who have already signed up. I'll send out an email before May 4 with all the pick-up details to those who have signed on. 

Here's the summary of the shares we have available now:

A) Main season share- Our full 2021 main season share runs Tuesdays, May 4- Oct 26 (26 weeks). This is the farmer’s pick box, and consistently our most popular share option. Each Tuesday, we, the farmers, select the box’s contents based on a colorful and tasty variety of what is in season at Glade Road Growing. We have convenient pick up available at either our farm or the Vintage Cellar on South Main Street. SNAP customers please sign up here. 

B) Egg Share- New this year! The egg share runs the same dates as our main share (5/4-10/26) and is a convenient add-on that includes a dozen each week of either duck eggs or chicken eggs. All our poultry are raised free-range outdoors on pasture and supplemented with certified organic non-GMO feed. They are the best eggs around! Our egg share is also a great value at over 10% below our retail cost.

C) Farm Debit Card- Our farm debit card offers the most flexibility for those who really want to select what veggies they get and when they get them through our online farm market. The card has additional credit built-in (for example, the card costs $420 but you get $450 of credit). Farm debit card credit never expires and rolls over each year.

D) Give Towards a Farm Share- Each year we have individuals with unique needs who request free or reduced farm shares and we provide them without question. This year we are inviting our community of customers to help us pay for these shares by providing a donation of your choice. Your donation goes towards providing our fresh produce and eggs weekly throughout the season by helping pay for a main season share.

We're continuing with our Online Farm Market this season!
Thank you for supporting our farm with your continued purchases through our online farm market.  Although we do miss the face-to face with you all, we're keeping up this system for several reasons:
1) We find it's the most convenient option for our customers to know what we have and reserve it in advance of making the trek out here.
2) It helps us better organize our work day to get all the farm tasks that need to get done done!
3) The produce stays fresher longer than it would by sitting out on a shelf or table at an open market-style set-up
4) The produce and meat packages are cleaner and handled by less hands than in an open market-style set-up. 

We are working on a limited walk-up self-serve honesty kiosk like we have done in the past and we'll hopefully have that available by this summer. But our online market will continue to have the widest selection of all our available produce and meats. We pack orders daily and the majority are packed within 24 hours. You can leave us order notes on the check out page with special requests. We're always asking for feedback on how to make getting our foods easier for you so please send your input our way. We now accept SNAP EBT and are participating in the Virginia Fresh Match program!
SNAP beneficiaries please use the coupon code snap on the checkout page in our online farm market. SNAP funds can be used to purchase our farm's certified naturally grown produce, meats, and eggs through our online farm market and for our farm shares. Here is the gist of how it works with our system:

1. You must have a SNAP EBT card issued by your state. Pick out your SNAP-eligible items in our online farm market and add to your cart. Note your subtotal (with Virginia Fresh Match, you only pay 50% of your vegetable subtotal; meat, eggs and honey purchases are full price but can be matched with equivalent value of free vegetables).
2. At the checkout page enter the coupon code snap. The snap coupon code should bring your online order total to $0* (*note- we will run the actual order subtotal in person with your EBT card when you come to pick up your order).
3. Since EBT transactions must be done in person, in the “Order Notes” section on the checkout page please provide some times when you would like to pick up your order and run your card.
4. Proceed with checkout. If you've checked out successfully you should receive a confirmation email shortly thereafter.
5. Once we receive and pack your order we will contact you to coordinate pick up and to simultaneously run the transaction with your EBT card.
