Testing Corner

Dates:

• 6th grade - Wednesday, May 5th

• 7th grade - Thursday, May 6th

• 8th grade - Friday, May 7th
  
  A reminder that if you do not Opt-In, your child is automatically opted out of the exam. 
  
  Students who are NOT taking the exam must remain home to learn remotely through the three testing days. This includes all blended learning students, even those with a 5 day a week schedule.

If you would like to OPT-IN your child to Math State Exam, you must complete the form below by Friday, April 30th. 
 
If you are uncertain if you already opted-in, please fill it out. Once again, we will send confirmation emails on Monday, May 3rd with information about the test.

Dear Families:

As April comes to a close, many of you might already be thinking about summer plans for your children. I encourage you to consider summer plans that provide social, emotional, and academic support. Perhaps you are considering summer camp or regular playdates with friends and family to boost social and emotional support, or maybe tutoring services or routine visits to the public library to aid in academic aid.  
 

This summer, NYC will offer a free summer school program to any child in grade k-12. The program is called Summer Rising, and it is full-day and in-person. It will provide students with academic support and offer art and recreation activities to address the whole child.

• Teacher Planning Time - To support teachers' needs to adjust their units for the last two months of school, teachers will be planning periods 5 - 7, by grade level, on the dates below. Please know that teachers in that grade level will be turning some live zoom classes asyn on that day.

• The LMC Student Dress Code: Shorts/skirts/dresses should fully cover a child's bottom.  Shirts/tops/dresses should appropriately cover the torso.  No clothing depicting drugs, alcohol, profanity/violence is permitted
