Hopefully, all this recent snow is melted now and we are on a short trajectory toward Spring.

Spring Meeting Date Set

At our annual meeting, we mentioned that we would try to organize an in-person meeting for Spring, so we did.

Wednesday, June 2, 2021

We don't have a location or a specific time decided yet. Save the date and we'll get you more information as soon as COVID-19 cooperates.

Ideally, we'd like to meet at the Ledgewood Community Center if it's available.  The Library is another possibility.  Stay tuned!
SIDING
Regarding siding, we want to continue the discussion that started last year.  Remember that the board has made NO final decisions one way or the other regarding keeping the existing wood or replacing it with something else. However, since 92% of survey responders favored replacing the wood, and a slightly greater number suggested we update with multiple color selections, we want to continue to explore the possibilities.

Here are some thoughts open for discussion:
  • Having multiple color options available to choose from - maybe three
  • What if each homeowner made the decision to replace the siding or not on their home
  • Possibly doing a few homes as samples
  • Financing options if you decide to re-side
  • Would homeowners prefer to select their own contractor
Get your thoughts together and plan to have a great open exchange regarding the future of our neighborhood. More details to follow regarding time and place.  If you've got any other ideas that you can't wait to share, send them to VCVA.Siding@gmail.com. (that's a period between VCVA and Siding.)

PARTY
Secondly, we'd like to duplicate the street block party we had a year ago when Bob and Anna were moving to Florida.  We've set a tentative date for you to save:
Sunday, September 12, 2021 @ 3:00 p.m.
Also, Charlotte Becker has offered to head up the party committee and would be happy to gather ideas and volunteers for the event.  You can reach her at 440-263-2670, or bring your ideas to our Spring Meeting.

LANDSCAPING
Just to update everyone on our landscaping work going forward,  Some items of note:

#1 Landscaping has been hired to do both landscaping and weeding for the next three years. This is a cost saving over what we paid last year to have two separate contractors.

This coming week should see the removal of the two or three trees in the common area that didn't survive the winter. One of the decorative crabs has been staked twice already and doesn't seem to be able to stand by itself. They are going to be removed and replaced.

In the beginning of June, the contractor will be adding 2" of bark mulch to all mulched areas by your homes, and will be refreshing the river rock.

Starting this year, Jan Guray is going to be our "official" representative for all landscaping issues. If you have any questions with the landscaping work, or you see areas that need attention, please contact Jan at 440-238-3424. She will pass the information on to #1 Landscaping.  Homeowners are requested to not contact #1 Landscaping directly unless you contract with them individually for service.  Thanks.
