The SheDecides Virtual Art Gallery is now open! It launched with a joyful celebration of the amazing 25 featured artists and their work to advance conversations about gender equality in and around the Generation Equality Forum.

Ambassador Delphine O, Secretary General of the Generation Equality Forum, and SheDecides Champion Minister Karina Gould opened the event with a reminder of the transformational power of art in changing social and gender norms, and positively influencing young women and girls. This was powerfully demonstrated by Zuhura the African Lionness in her stirring narration of her own experience of bodily autonomy.

The Gallery is a space to reflect on bodily autonomy issues and activism, to spark your own reflections on what that means to you and of course to make connections with like-minded activists from around the world. It's your space - check it out and tell us your thoughts on info@shedecides.com

TAKING ACTION for bodily autonomy

Dominican Republic lawmakers rejected a proposal to decriminalise abortion for #las3causales: danger to a woman's life; unviable pregnancy; rape or incest. The fight to guarantee human rights above personal convictions is not over. On 23 May, Dominican Republic activists will Stand Up and Speak Out boldly that women and girls’ right to decide is fundamental for them to live with dignity. Follow along with them: @shedecides_rd
25x25 Erica Ehiamah hosted an Open Mic on young people’s access to contraceptives during the pandemic. Limited access to sexual and reproductive health information and services because of the pandemic has immediate and long-term impact on women, girls and entire communities. Access to contraception is essential for women and girls to be able to exercise their right to decide about their bodies, lives and future. SheDecides Nepal partnered with Nepalese personality and influencer Malvika Subba to develop online conversations about the three core issues they work on in Nepal.
