Producer Notes

Greetings Everyone,

We hope everyone has been enjoying our latest event series - beginning with A Pirate's Life & Soulless Seduction, players everywhere are asking themselves - Where is Yukio (and how do I get one of those awesome sets of earrings!?)  We've got more great events (and rewards!) planned for this spring, continuing with Alchemist's Abomination & Treasures of Wildfire!  We hope you enjoy them as much as we did creating them!

The Team is also busy continuing work on Ultima Online: New Legacy!  We've really enjoyed sharing our vision for this next bold Britannian adventure.  Right now we are focused on fleshing out the back-end systems that will support driving the majority of content you'll experience as you forge your new Britannian Legacy!  Forward facing this means building what we call the "first 15 minutes" as you start your life on New Legacy in the City of Ocllo.  We are planning our next Dev Hangout for early June, so keep an eye on UO.com and your inbox for updates and to take part in that stream!

Looking to live, I would like to talk about Britain Banks.  The original intent to decorate these banks and have the contest was to get people out of Luna and bring life back into a once busy town.  With all the changes in the game the banks have remained unused except for the Spellweaving Circle.  I want to remove all decorations from all banks on all shards.  Before I make any final decision on this I am willing to hear your comments as to why it should stay.   I have gotten several emails and comments regarding building additional things to banks that was not part of the original design.  With all that being said I look forward to hearing your comments.

We unfortunately no longer have the services of our in game Japanese translator.  With that said, until further notice, we are going to have to stop all Meet and Greets on the Japanese shards until we can come up with a solution so we might be able to meet and talk with the Japanese players.  In the meantime all of our Japanese players should feel free to e-mail us with any questions to be answered in future newsletters!

I would also like to invite any of our Japanese players that would like to join the Event Moderator team to please contact Mesanna@broadsword.com for more details.  I currently have an opening for one (1) player that is creative and loves UO!

As most of you know we like to give second chances for banned accounts.  We all know that this game has much history and many of us started playing when we were young and sometimes did things we should not have.  With time and age everyone deserves a second chance.  But, understand, we will not continue to give chance after chance when the accounts are banned for the same behavior.  If you feel you would like to have your account back that was banned, and the ban has been in place for a minimum of 1 year, we will be happy to review it for reinstatement.  Please contact support.

Soul Glass

The artisan shielded her eyes as she removed the molten glass from the kiln. The ethereal sand in the mix gave off a violet flare. Found only on distant Britannian islands, the arcane mineral was necessary to make glass vessels that could hold a soul. Necromancers and cultists had used this fact to control swarms of ghosts, but Yukio saw another purpose. This would be her masterpiece.

As the dangerous flare lessened, Yukio carefully inflated the glass into a perfect orb, adding her life breath to the magic glass. Her hands traced the same symbols her family had etched onto soul stones for generations, and mana danced across the inside of the orb. 

The artisan carefully heated the orb again and twisted off the attached blowpipe. The glass sphere held itself in midair over a pool of water, its magic linking to the soulstones in the water below.

As she stood back to examine her work, Yukio noticed a man in a dark robe standing at the edge of her open-air studio. He gave a small clap. "We were impressed with the silver and gold soulstones you made that Minister Ihara Soko gifted to the Empress for the New Year. This though is truly exquisite work.” 

Yukio gave a small bow and turned back to her workbench. There was something about the rude stranger she didn’t like, so she quietly picked up a chisel. 

“We wish to hire you.”

“I am currently without time for new projects.”

“I worried you would say that. I must insist.” The stranger whistled, and a band of hired Yomotsu appeared at the treeline. 

Yukio ran, but a pair of kappas caught up to her. She stabbed at the head of one of the creatures, but the chisel melted in the foul acid held there. The kappas dragged her back. The stranger was directing the other mercenaries to steal various tools from her studio. “What do you want from me?”

“You will bind a great soul back to this world.”

From the Meet & Greets

Can we implement a function to dump a potion keg in a single action?

Yes, we can add this as a future quality of life upgrade!

Can you look at the first aid belt using macros for bandages in EC?

We have submitted a problem report into the system (Bandages contained within an equipped First Aid Belt cannot be used in standard EC functions) and hope to resolve the issue in a future publish.

Can we revisit scribe BODs and make the 5th through 8th circle worth more?

While we don't have adjustments to the BOD system on our radar specifically, we have added this request to our backlog for a future publish

Do Talisman of the Fey (CuSidhe) override healing skill?  How is dexterity factored in?

Healing that occurs via the Talisman + Animal Form happens independent of healing skill and is based on Ninjitsu Skill.  Dex is not a factor.

Can you increase the size of the soulstone container gump?

This has been completed and we have the new gump slated for a future client release.

For the billing support at support@ultimaonline.com to sufficiently verify ownership of an account you wish to recover, information that is currently set on the account has to be verified. Please note that account recovery requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If a secret word is saved on the desired account(s), we will be happy to provide the secret word hint(s).

Accounts that have been closed within the last year require the secret word and 2 pieces of information.

Accounts that have been closed for more than a year require only the secret word, if a secret word is not set then 3 pieces of information are required.

Information used for verification are as follows:
  • Account name
  • Email
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Key codes
  • Payment information (CC)
  • Date account was open/closed
  • State/country
ACCOUNT RECOVERY AND GENERAL ACCOUNT, BILLING OR TECHNICAL RELATED ISSUE

PASSWORD ISSUES
To reset your password you must first understand which type of account you are resetting the password for.
EA Accounts, Mythic Master Accounts, and Mythic Product / Game Accounts all have separate individual passwords. All of which you can reset at our Account Center at https://accounts.eamythic.com/.

       * At the EA page enter the email used to log into your EA Account to change its password.
       * If you have not received your password or have received an error while trying to reset the password and you have disabled all spam filters, please contact EA Support here.
 
TERMINATED ACCOUNTS
If you have an account that was terminated by CS over a year ago and would like to have it back, please contact the Dispute Team from the email associated with the account at dispute@ultimaonline.com for further investigation and a possible one-time reprieve.

EA ORIGIN - ORDERS, CODES, AND THIRD PARTY RESELLERS

Sovereigns Coin Codes purchased from EA Origin have to be redeemed on the Account Center; you cannot enter these in game.
Sovereign Coin Codes that have been redeemed are bound to the EA Account they were redeemed on and are only usable by the accounts linked with that EA Account; Sovereign Coin currency may not be transferred.

If you are having issues with your EA Origin purchase, follow this link to resolve the issue.

CODE PURCHASE DELAY
You may have noticed that Origin Store purchases made did not arrived as expected. The Origin Store enacts reviews on all transactions to safeguard against fraudulent purchases, and these reviews may take up to 72 hours. Unfortunately our Billing department is not able to expedite or circumvent this process. However, players who have questions or concerns regarding a store purchase can contact Origin Support for assistance using the below steps:
 
1)  Go here, https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=origin&platform=pc
2)  Select topic* - select Orders
3)  Select issue*
4)  Click on "Select contact option"
5)  Sign in with your EA Account or click on "Get help from an advisor without logging in." if you're having trouble signing in.

THIRD PARTY RESELLERS
We would also like to reiterate that the Origin store is the only guaranteed provider of codes for Ultima Online. The validity of a code purchased from a third-party seller (be it a friend, in-game acquaintance, or recommended site) cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, any codes we find to have be fraudulently obtained will be disabled and an account that applies any of these codes will have that code removed from said account. This can result in the loss of game time, character slots, expansion access, Sovereigns (and the items purchased with them), in-game items and more. Please be advised that we cannot assist with any issues stemming from codes purchased via non-Origin means; you will be required to contact the vendor from which you purchased the code for further assistance.
