An Update on our Launch Plans
Hi everyone,
Thank you for your ongoing interest, prayers and support of this new outreach endeavor! Here's a quick update on where things are at with Drawbridge Creations:
1. We have received a number of donations over the past few months, some from partners North America and some from people here in Japan. We're thankful for each contribution and for God's provision for this ministry so far. 2. In our last Drawbridge Dispatch, I said that we were preparing to launch our first manga project in May. We have made a lot of progress, but unfortunately we are going to have to push back that launch date a little. Taking into account our artists' schedules, plus the time needed to translate scripts, it has become clear that May was not a realistic goal. Currently we are looking at August or September for the launch of "POV."
3. I just sent scripts to four different artists last week, and this week I've started meeting with each of them (online) to work out schedules for producing their manga stories. Among these is one new artist who wasn't previously on our potential collaborators list -- Ryo Azumi, a Japanese cartoonist who has done a lot of professional work including some Bible-based books. We're grateful that she's willing and able to partner with us! In the next while, I hope to be able to show you some sample art and works-in-progress from her and our other artists, but for now...
4. Please pray! Specifically, please pray for good communication and collaboration between our various partners -- leadership, admin, writers, translators and artists. Pray for the many decisions to be made in setting up our website, finalizing a name for this project and promoting it so people will actually read it. Pray for our start-up fund to be raised. And perhaps most importantly, pray that God will prepare the hearts of potential readers, especially those who don't know Him, and draw them to Jesus.
