At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Using the COSP™ model developed by the Circle of Security originators, our trained Facilitators work with parents and care-givers to help them to:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
  • Enhance the development of their child's self esteem
  • Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
For more info check out the COS website.

Our facilitator will be Syd Bosel, a gifted parenting educator who has been leading parenting groups at ESFP for over 25 years.

As the rainforest calls to Zonia, she – and all of us – must answer. (recommended for ages 4 – 8). Here are some to try: Do a cherry blossom count and document it with photos. Plant a tree, or buy a new plant for your home. On Earth Day (April 22) have your kids help you take out the recycling and discuss why it is important- ask them their thoughts.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SIGNAL FOR HELP

The social isolation measures necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic are making it more difficult for those who are at risk of abuse or violence to safely reach out for help. “Signal for Help” is a simple one-handed sign someone can use on a video call. It can help a person silently show they need help and want someone to check in with them in a safe way. For more information on the Signal for Help, including tips on how to help someone if you see it on a call, please go to the Canadian Women's Foundation page. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911.
