TOKYO TAYLORS UPDATE: April 2021 Spring In Suspense

The Taylors are WorldVenture Missionaries in Japan since 1997 involved in:
Church Planting Movements, Innovative Ministries, Leadership Development, Business as Mission (BAM)

Spring in Japan represents a new year and renewal in many areas of life and culture. But one year after the persistent pandemic Spring is in Suspense in Japan. The vaccine roll out is very slow and certain parts of Japan (including Tokyo) is on its third State of Emergency.

	JVENTURE Mission Retreat... It has been a full 2 years since our last mission retreat in 2019. And so I sensed it was very important to gather together this year in spite of all the odds.... no USA teams allowed in Japan to support our child care and programming help plus the surging covid cases. This ongoing persistent pandemic has caused many of us to feel discouraged, frustrated, isolated, and sometimes depressed. On the field, JVENTURE is our mission family yet some of us have not even met our new missionaries who arrived in the last 2 years. As you can see in the photo above, we had a great time as we were refreshed through fellowship, refocused in the Word through devotionals, and recharged by the Holy Spirit through prayer.
	(Postponed) Damah Film Festival... We were all systems go and excited for the May 7-8 event. But once the decision to put Tokyo in another State of Emergency, we got a call from the Hall to cancel the scheduled event. We are now looking at later dates this year to reschedule. Please pray for wisdom and hall availability later sometime in the Fall of this year.
	Family Update April 10 was Anika's birthday. She continues to "be a blessing" in her life, marriage, and work as a personal trainer. She even started her own small business making and selling her own products (candles, shirts, earrings, workout gear, etc).
